Silesia Porcelain Serving Plate Handpainted Pink Rose Cutout Handles Signed PK Germany

This beautiful antique serving plate with cutout handles is signed on the bottom 'P.K. Silesia' with a tent in the center. It was manufactured in a section of Germany which is now a part of Poland.

PK stands for 'Porzellanfabrik Konigszelt.' P. K. manufactured their top-shelf hand painted porcelain-ware from1860 into early 1900's to a very well-heeled client base.. This gorgeous porcelain serving plate is 9" inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Like all real porcelain pieces, it rings like a bell when struck.

In it's day, these fancy sought after serving pieces were simply the best quality porcelain that money could buy. During the Victorian and Edwardian Eras, the very best china and porcelains in the world were manufactured in Germany, Poland, Austria and Czechoslovakia.
This stunning hand painted antique plate is a gem.

Edwardian Decoration 1

Stripping the wallpaper in the main bedroom, I'd expected several layers of wallpaper and some crumbling plaster!

I wasn't expecting to find under one layer of wallpaper, the hand painted decor from I presume when the house was built in 1904.

This wall is well preserved, with scumbled panel and leaf pattern panels either side.

I'm wondering whether this was typical of the time, or whether this was found in posher houses of the time?
